At the end of the winter term 2011/2012 the International Office and the DaF-Student-Service PunktUm are organizing a 2-day trip to the former German capital Bonn.
We will begin our trip on Saturday morning by train and after lunch in the hostel we will participate in a guided city tour. We will follow the trace of democracy and learn something about the time between 1945 and 1990, when Bonn was the Capital City of Germany. On Sunday we will visit the "House of History", a museum which shows the development of Germany from World War II till now and also offers temporary exhibitions. There we will also take part in a guided tour. Afterwards you have the opportunity to take part in a visit to the Bundeskunsthalle which is a museum showing paintings and other art from all over the world.
In order to introduce the topic and prepare the trip in regard to vocabulary and language PunktUm is offering a workshop (4 lessons) that takes place on Friday, January 27th and February 3rd from 5:30 pm till 7.00 pm. Applications can be sent directly to PunktUm: punktum@uni-bielefeld.de.
The participation fee for the trip is 15 Euro and includes accommodation (in shared rooms) and breakfast in the hostel as well as a lunch on Saturday, the guided city tour and the entrance fee for the Bundeskunsthalle. Entry and the tour in the "House of History" are free for all visitors. Train transportortation is free of charge with the Semesterticket/NRW-ticket (we will pay the tickets for post-docs).
20 international PhD-students and post-docs can take part in this trip. Beyond that, international students may participate, provided places are available. Participants of the language-workshop will be preferred. Places will be assigned according to the order of the applications received.
Applications can be sent via email to: interkontakt@uni-bielefeld.de.
Registration is confirmed when the person concerned enters his or her name on
the list and pays the registration fee in full (all payments are made in cash).
Registration can be made with Kira van Bebber on Mondays (11-12am) and
